Biography

Alfonso Garcia Chan is a trial lawyer, experienced in litigating and licensing complex intellectual property cases on behalf of universities, research institutes, and technology companies. Alfonso focuses primarily on semiconductors and electronic technology-intensive matters. Alfonso maintains a very active international practice, which extends beyond the United States and encompasses China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Europe. Alfonso also serves as an adjunct professor of law at Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. Prior to practicing law, Alfonso was an officer in the United States Navy and nuclear propulsion engineer at Naval Reactors Headquarters. Alfonso spends his free time running ultramarathons across the United States, the Sahara desert, and Brazilian jungles.
